The Ahom King Suhungmung

 SUHUNGMUNG (DIHINGIA RAJA)

-Reign- 1497-1539
-Nepoleon of Assam
-Established capital at Bakata.
-Took Hindu Title 'Swarganarayan'.
-The first Assamese Buranji was written during his reign.
-Saka Era also started during his reign.
-Created post Barpatro Gohain. 
The first Barpatro Gohain- Konseng (stepbrother of Suhungmung)
-He annnexed the Chutiya Kingdom in1923 by defeating Chutiya King Nitipal/Nityapal in the battle of Mathudang and arranged Rikhvan ceremony (ceremony after winning a war). Nitipal's wife Sadhini committed suicide by jumping off Chandragiri Hill and her death anniversary is celebrated as 'Sati Sadhini Divas'.
First Muslim Invasion in Ahom Dynasty-
in 1527 by Nusrat Shah but was defeated by Ahoms.
Second Muslim invasion during Ahom
-Turbak Invasion- 1532 AD. Turbak was sent by Sultan of Bengal. 
-The Sadiyakhowa Gohain Phrasengmung Borgohain was died in this invasion.
-His wife Mula Gabharu fought battle against Turbak Khan and died.
-Her death anniversary is celebrated as 'Mula Gabharu Divas' on 29th May.
-Then Kongseng Barpatro Gohain defeated Turbak.


-Suhungmung was assassinated by Ratiman (conspiracy by his son Suklengmung).

The Ahom KIng Sudangphaa

SUDANGPHAA (BAMUNI KONWAR) -Reign-1397-1407 -Was born and brought up in a Brahmin family, so he was named as Bamuni Konwar. -Established capital at Charguya. -Started Hindu religious practices. -Started Singarigharutha ceremony, which is a traditional Tai-Ahom ceremony of coronation. Singari ghar is made of wood of Singari tree.
